Boomerang Poetry Boomerang
by Carl Lindner
Chevron cut from tree-heart, the shape of geese against the sky, this thing was meant to fly. End over end, angling into light,
it sings
of the quick release,
the getaway
through what
escapes the eye,
and then
the turning sharp
and tightening of arc-
the over-
the shoulder look-
the swooping back
and down
to where it began.
